My Long & Winding Road - Hardcover Autobiography

Biography

Angie McCartney was born in Liverpool in 1929 and grew up during World War II, spending childhood nights in the Anderson Air Raid Shelter in the back garden of their Norris Green home. She would take a penny tramcar ride along the Liverpool Docks and dream of going to America, which she finally did in her 60's, via London, Sydney, Germany, Austria, Russia, Siberia, and many other points. Her book: Angie McCartney, My Long and Winding Road, (the first 82.7 years), includes the 12 years she was married to Jim McCartney, Father of Sir Paul, leading to many interesting adventures with The Beatles and other luminaries. It was launched with a 2 night extravaganza in her home town of Liverpool, at the famed Philharmonic Hall featuring Beatle bands from as far away as Tokyo and Eastern Europe. Angie is a weekly contributor to the Pete Price late night talk show on CityTalk.FM in Liverpool at 1am local time each Wednesday. Angie is currently touring with the retrospective evening stage show "The Magical History Tour" produced by son-in-law Martin Nethercutt, and also featuring her daughter, Ruth, their anecdotes, stories behind the songs and the best darn Beatle Tribute band you ever will see.

"As the only Beatle parent still alive, 90-year-old Angie McCartney has a perspective on life, love and the Beatles that cannot be replicated. I especially enjoyed the stories of her youth, growing up in war-torn Britain and her resilience in the face of adversity. And of course, there's her great Beatles stories. I highly recommend this book."

"Angie McCartney has led a truly amazing life and has packed a lot of living in her 90 years.
